Individual Therapy
I approach individual therapy from an Existential and depth-oriented perspective. I won’t give you a full philosophy lesson, unless you ask. In a nutshell this means that I believe many struggles with anxiety, depression, and perfectionism are rooted in struggles with identity, values, and you living how you want to live. Over the course of therapy, you’ll learn what your values are and where they came from; you’ll explore the key events that helped to form your identity; and you’ll start to live a life that is more authentic to who you are.
Couples Therapy
While I use the Gottman Method in couples work, I still look through my existential and depth-oriented lens. How does that apply to couples? I believe that issues in a relationship can develop when our authentic selves are not known or supported. Over the course of your couples work, you’ll get to know your partner on a deeper level; learn how to support your partners dreams and goals; and build a new relationship between the best versions of each other. Don’t worry— you’ll still learn how to fight better.
